longitudinal (BCL) and transversal (BCP) strain gauges for elastic modulus

General Information

Location:

BATir - Building, Architecture & Town Planning, building : C, local : civil engineering lab level 2

Key words:

Extensometer

Main application:

An extensometer was developed by the company J2P (http://j2p2003.free.fr/) for the determination of the elastic properties of a concrete. The measurements of the longitudinal and transversal displacements are taken in the central part of the specimen where the stress field is assumed to be homogenous. Thus the Young’s modulus and the Poisson coefficient can be determined with this extensometer.
